We start with queries from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, who chairs the panel.

She opens by providing details to the disclosed document authored by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.

"It is not my wish for the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, I simply desire it straight, unbiased and just," he declares.

Upon being questioned whether he thinks the BBC is systematically partial, Prescott responds: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, numerous aspects the BBC does is world class - encompassing informative and fictional content."

But he adds: "There exists real work that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she views the BBC with great importance and that it has a "continuous process and lively discussion" regarding evolving and intricate subjects.

"Whether the BBC was ready to have a thorough conversation and debate and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
