Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
