Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
