Manchester United, after defeating Liverpool and Sunderland, are targeting three consecutive successes on the bounce this evening. They have momentum under Ruben Amorim now more than ever!

Only problem is, their visitors tonight come from the south coast, who have won during three consecutive away games at Manchester United’s home, plus six out of seven fixtures in this rivalry.

Never mind the wind behind; for the Seagulls relatively easy. That said, the visitors are also famously erratic like United, making this match both fascinating and potentially rollickingly good entertainment.

Team News

United decided on a couple of alterations after last week’s victory against Liverpool. Šeško starts replacing Mount, now on the substitutes, plus the decisive scorer Maguire is absent completely, Leny Yoro taking his place in defence.

He sustained a knock during training this week. Tyrell Malacia is named in a Premier League squad for the first time this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion make one alteration after their 2-1 home win versus Newcastle. It’s ostensibly a defensive one, including De Cuyper for Diego Gómez, now among the subs.

Danny Welbeck, formerly of United that lifted the title back in 2013, visits his old club on a hot streak with four recent goals, one more than he’d managed over his last 15 matches.

Build-Up

The manager pays little heed for the opinions of Arne Slot … but Danny Welbeck is highly concerned about the considerations of Thomas Tuchel.

It is widely discussed the fixture could have implications for both teams’ seasons during the league unfolds.
