Toronto Blue Jays Secure World Series Meeting With the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros winning the championship in 2017.

The Toronto Blue Jays earned a spot in their initial World Series following 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh game seven of the AL Championship Series.

Down by two runs, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh inning, guiding the Toronto squad in MLB to a 4-3 victory in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, holders of the current crown, in the anticipated championship.

"It's incredible for everyone here, the city, our country," Springer stated, a star of the Astros team that won the 2017 title. "It's truly an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now connected for 23 October home runs, placing him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that situation other than George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the early in the series, remain the one club yet to make an appearance in a Fall Classic.

Wilson commented "without a doubt that it hurts" following his side's defeat at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their work throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we finished on the unsuccessful side of this game," he remarked.

Toronto secured the championship on both previous visits in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Dodgers in game one on this Friday.
