The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California aged 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.
